Educator - Photographer Hotep! My name is Phillip Chardon! I was born in Boston, Mass. in 1981. I grew up between New England and
the Bay Area. I graduated high school in the year 2000, and attended UC
Santa Barbara. By 2005, I had earned a BA in history and and M.Ed in
education. I moved to South Central, Los Angeles and took a history
position at Animo South Los Angeles Charter School, which had just
finished its first year of existence. I worked at that position for 3
years, and then followed my assistant principal to the Locke
Transformation - a never-before-done project in which a large public
school has been transformed into several small charter schools. I worked
at Animo Locke II Charter High School as the Technology/Leadership
teacher for three years, and am now the Dean. In my personal life, on
August 8, 2009, I married by college sweetheart, Christina Craig. We
both currently reside in South Central, Los Angeles. By the way, "hotep" is an Egyptian word for "peace." I use it as a greeting to both embrace history and exude positivity. |
